Rocsters Fund Raising

A personal message from Andy & Sue,

Over the years as dance organisers we have been delighted and privileged to stage events to support many charities, both local and National. Some have been very personal and close to our hearts and others have been suggested by dancers because those charities mean a lot to them.

We have run dances to support National Charities like Help for Heroes, Alzheimers, Marie Curie, etc. We also support causes in other ways, giving preferential rates to a children's theatre group every Saturday and a Fencing club every Sunday - for Halloween we donated the use of The Warren for a Children's Health Charity with raised thousands. And we have supported local causes like St Barnabas Hospice in Goring and Glebelands Dementia Centre in Shoreham by Sea.

We are also raising funds to provide disabled facilities for the Warren. As the building had been left derelict for many years the disabled facilities are in need of updating and repair. We rent the Warren from Worthing College. However, the College have no budget to improve the building - rightly, their budget is for their own students. We believe that looking after the disabled is a shared responsibility rather than something we should fund entirely on our own. Hence our fund raising - we're giving our time and the use of the venue for free and asking people to reciprocate by making donations.

Of course, dance is our job too - most of our classes and dances provide us with a modest living. And we are delighted we run a business doing something we love. But we never forget there are people who are less fortunate.

And we could not do anything without the support of our dancers and the staff of Worthing College.

Thank you, thank you, thank you.
